Dear USA Canoe/Kayak Clubs and Affiliated Organizations,
We are excited to announce that we have both improved and upgraded our
insurance package for both individuals and clubs for 2005! As many of you
know, at the end of 2004 we opted to change insurance carriers and are now
with American Specialty Insurance & Risk Services, Inc. Due to this change
many of our on-line forms for membership (both club and individual) and
insurance/sanctioning have changed. All our informational documents many of
you reference and look to for guidance have also been changed and updated
for your convenience and can be found on our website www.usack.org.
It is our hope that you find this new information both helpful and easy to
understand. Despite this change in carrier and upgrade in coverage,
ALL OUR 2005 FEES WILL REMAIN THE SAME.
For all clubs that are current in their membership, you should have
received (or are receiving) your general certificate of insurance via mail.
Any clubs that have lapsed in their membership no longer have insurance with
USA Canoe/Kayak and will not receive a Certificate until their membership
renewal is received. For any clubs requiring additional certificates to be
issued, please complete the on-line Certificate Request Form and either fax
or e-mail it with all appropriate fees to Rachel Gunn in the main office for
immediate processing.
For Sanctioned Events, we are now requiring all clubs to complete a USACK
Risk Management Checklist sent in with the Insurance/Sanctioning
Application. This document can be found on-line under Insurance and
Sanctioning.
Please find on-line for your additional convenience forms for: Event
Registration, Event/Club Roster, Post Event Checklist, and Waivers. Under
Membership we have also posted some great ideas to help you and your club
with fundraising and sponsorship!
In addition, we will be sending hard copies of all on-line materials to
current and renewing clubs. Should you have questions, please do not
hesitate to call us at 704-348-4330.
Happy and Safe Paddling!
Rachel M. Gunn

Membership & Development Director
