Thanks goes out to Scot Taylor and Rush Adventures for hosting the
Second Annual Sooke Kayak Polo Tournament.  I had a great time. What a
great location!  The hot tub was defiantly worth while.  It was so nice
to stay in it while we waited for our turn to play.  It was pleasant
meeting and talking with everyone.  Such a diverse and interesting group
of people.

I talked to Scot Taylor who is hosting the tourney and he said  "that
Sit on Top boats are welcome to come play in the tourney. However if the
boats were an issue that we may ask them to use our boats. Everyone will
also will be split up because of the wide range of paddlers we should
have for the weekend."
 
So far Jeff Kruse, Dale, and myself are interested in going.  Last year
was good, and it was thier first time hosting the tourney.  This year
should be better with a hot-tub, night lights and night games.

Second annual Rush Adventures polo tournamentOctober 8th & 9th

It's now time for the Second Annual Sooke Kayak Polo Tournament.  It
will be held on the weekend of October 8th & 9th at 5449 Sooke rd  Rush
Adventures in Sooke BC (30 minutes west of Victoria).  The tournament is
welcome to all players and to all skill levels.  Teams will be created
upon everyone's registration to ensure even teams and a fun weekend of
play.  The cost this year to enter into the tournament is $30.00, $10.00
of the fee will include the cost of a waterside hot tub for keeping warm
between games.
As always the location games will be held right here in Cooper's Cove, a
fabulous warm cove that has been outfitted with boundary lines and
floating nets for the play area.  Night games will be an event as our
lights are set up to ensure visibility into the dusk of evening.
Spectators will be encouraged and welcomed to come out and watch or
cheer for the teams as the weekend progresses.  Games will take place
from 12:00pm - 9:00pm on the Saturday with a period of skill development
starting at 10am before games begin.  The Sunday schedule will run in
the morning till about 2:00pm, leaving time to catch the afternoon
ferries back to the various mainlands.
Onsite here is the Stonepipe Landing Restaurant next door for dining
needs; and a group dinner will be happening on the Saturday night after
the evening games have concluded.  As well the property here is open to
all players who would like to camp here, as well as a campground nearby
with a hotel as well.
Again players of all levels are welcome to come out and enjoy what is
sure to be a fun weekend of exciting polo action.  We look forward to
seeing everyone at the big weekend event.
