My name is Abena Boakyewa-Ansah and I am the associate director of the Richards Civil War Era Center at Pennsylvania State University. I am writing to you to share our Catto-LeCount program<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/richardscenter.la.psu.edu/fellowships/catto-lecount-fellows-program/__;!!K-Hz7m0Vt54!lfkdAZRg8sPRrVaY91GcqwJvbE51UAfuYgwry43PYBJsfrTe0fTnOVoE-oSi_8UBU5ZBAJnFhJLxOQ$> for students from underrepresented groups who are interested in pursuing their doctorate in the field of history or a dual-title PhD in history and African American studies. This FREE spring program is packed with advising sessions on creating competitive application materials; discussions about the program with current Penn State graduate students; introductions to the doctoral seminar; and an opportunity to connect with students from other schools with similar career goals! The program will be March 21-24, 2024, with travel, housing, food, and course materials covered.



Participants can be undergraduates (juniors and seniors), recently graduated, and current MA students or graduates, with an interest in pursuing graduate study in history. Please encourage eligible students to apply. I have attached a program brochure that provides information about the application process. Applications must be received by January 15, 2024.
