Students spend the first year at Columbia University in New York City and the second year at the London School of Economics, receiving masters degrees from both institutions. Faculty Spotlight: Ruth Barraclough

A labor historian of modern Korea, her research interests include literary history, biography and gender. Her book Factory Girl Literature<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/columbia.us14.list-manage.com/track/click?u=c525e56a2f86426c83d2b892f&id=e20fd0bc87&e=543c4538db__;!!K-Hz7m0Vt54!ilec1h_wQsOu-heLNTV27b_AeFAZCCMD1UTPyEhJaDDoCQSdMaXeJH6ktipmNDU1o2pSdbndjfcGVjH42tIfO1LhcA$> examined the novels, autobiographies and poetry of Korean working-class women in conversation with European industrial literature to show the international dimensions of autodidact writing culture.

Alumni Spotlight: Navin Rana
Since graduation, Navin has turned the historical interests found at the heart of his dissertation into the inspiration behind his current and future career as an advocate for religious freedom and sustainable international development in the Global South. After submitting his dissertation, Navin interned with several non-profit organizations, and he is now a J.D. Candidate, Global Law Scholar, and an Associate with the Human Rights Institute at Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C.
