Hello,
I hope this message finds you well. My name is Taylor Gulatsi and I am a Program Specialist with the Law Library of Congress. I am reaching out because the Library of Congress is sponsoring a challenge that encourages the public to create basic video games, similar to the Oregon Trail, that improve public knowledge of civics and incorporate Library of Congress resources. The winners will receive cash prizes and the games will be hosted on the Library’s site for use by the public. Entries are due by 11/27/23.
Would you please consider sharing it with anyone you think might be interested such as coding or social studies groups?
Additional Information:
The Library of Congress is sponsoring a challenge to help improve public knowledge of civics – that is, the rights and responsibilities of citizens - by asking video game developers to create fun, lightweight video games related to civics that incorporate Library of Congress resources. The Library will award cash prizes to the winners and the games will be hosted on the Library's site for use by the public. The deadline for entries is 11/27/23. You can find details on the rules and information on how to enter here. https://blogs.loc.gov/law/2023/06/help-the-library-of-congress-create-video-games-that-improve-public-knowledge-of-civics/<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/blogs.loc.gov/law/2023/06/help-the-library-of-congress-create-video-games-that-improve-public-knowledge-of-civics/__;!!K-Hz7m0Vt54!l2tUPIhrjWnEuIj2UrtWCenAWcCPSpnm6mlWeIix4mVjhlCVqw0IwsRYlpGNMrhSLfgs60ewJ2NpJOg$>
